Actor Robert Wagner Is Now A Person Of Interest In Natalie Wood’s Death
The case of Natalie Wood’s death in 1981 was reopened and her then-husband, actor Robert Wagner, has been named a person of interest.

Natalie Wood’s death in 1981 has been one of Hollywood’s biggest mysteries since then. With the case reopened in 2011, her then-husband, actor Robert Wagner, is now a named person of interest.
The night of Wood’s death, she, Wagner, Christopher Walken, and Captain Dennis Davern were yachting near Catalina Island. The West Side Story star was later found dead by drowning.
At the time, investigators ruled Wood’s death an accident. However, an updated coroner’s report determines the cause of death as “drowning and other undetermined factors.” A new autopsy report shows that Woods had bruises on her body. Detective Ralph Hernandez reportedly said that she “looked like a victim of assault.”
Lt. John Corina, who is now investigating the case, said:
“As we’ve investigated the case over the last six years, I think [Wagner] more of a person of interest now. I mean, we know now that he was the last person to be with Natalie before she disappeared.
He continued:
“I haven’t seen him tell the details that match all the other witnesses in this case … And his version of events just don’t add up.”
According to CBS News, two new witnesses from a neighboring boat have come forward. They saw Wagner and Woods argue before she died and believe he was the last to see her.
Wagner has yet to be classified as a suspect, but with the new autopsy report, Corina said:
“I think it’s suspicious enough to make us think that something happened.”
