Leftover Candy? Donate it!

Now that Halloween is over, there’s just a few weeks left before the biggest food holiday of them all…. Thanksgiving! Do you really want all that leftover candy tempting you? Don’t throw it away… Donate it! There are several places that would be happy to get your donation.

Treats for Troops allows you to send sweets to military service members. Kids can earn buyback prizes, and you can get a tax-deductible receipt for your donation.

A number of local dentists are “buying back” candy with cash, dental products, and more prizes. The Halloween Candy Buyback website has more details.

You can also consider donating candy to a local food bank. Feeding America and Foodpantries.org can help you find a food bank near you that is accepting donations.
