Sooo many times I’ll see an trailer for a new movie and think, that it looks good – maybe RENTAL good, but not pay theater prices good. With that in mind, The Motion Picture Association of America just revealed the top digital rental of 2017.

According to the Cinemablend.com the top rental of the year was “The Accountant,” a 2016 semi-thriller staring Ben Affleck as an autistic accountant working for the mob, which only brought in $68 million at the U.S. box office.

It’s a much different story for the 2nd and 3rd most-rented movies, which are “Moana” and “Wonder Woman.” Both movies were blockbusters, but for some reason “The Accountant” did exceptionally well as a rental. Some possible answers might be: It was digitally released at the very end of 2016, so it had all of 2017 to plug along. Also, it hasn’t appeared on Netflix, Hulu or Amazon Prime video yet.
