Fashion designer Kate Spade has tragically passed away at the age of 55…
According to TMZ, Spade’s body was found in her NYC apartment Tuesday morning. While it’s still unclear who discovered her, reports are saying that it was suicide by hanging.
Kate Spade’s career began om the ’80s when she was working for fashion magazine Mademoiselle. She later moved in with actor David Spade’s brother, Andy Spade, whom she had met in college. Together, they launched Kate Spade Handbags in 1993 which eventually grew into a huge fashion brand. The pair also married in 1994.
Although she sold the company in 2007, she launched a new brand back in 2016 called Frances Valentine.
Regardless of the official cause of death, we wish the best to her family and friends as they move through this difficult time.
