Researchers found if you wait a specific amount of time, you may actually increase your chances of staying together forever.

Is there a right amount of time to date before taking the plunge?

According to researchers, there is.

Insider reports Emory University researchers surveyed over 3,000 married or previously married people and found the magic number is three years.

Those who waited three years or more before saying “I do,” decreased the likelihood of divorce by a whopping 50%.
