Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton may be coming to movie theaters very soon! Now you won’t have to dish out the cash to see the Broadway show.

Despite the show being three years old now, tickets to see it are still quite expensive. We’re talking a starting price of $400! Those who can’t afford to go see the musical in person may now be able to see it at the much more affordable price of a movie ticket.

And, no, this isn’t a film adaptation of Hamilton. It’s actually a 2016 recording of the show in New York with the original cast!

According to the Wall Street Journal, 20th Century Fox and Warner Bros. are currently in a bidding war for distribution rights. Hopefully, numbers get sorted out soon because this is a rare chance to see Miranda himself in the lead role. The film was made one month before he officially retired from the position.
