No one can deny that Ariana Grande has had a tough year. On the flip side, however, she’s also been thriving in her professional life. During her acceptance speech for Billboard’s Woman of the Year award, she addressed the juxtaposition in her life.

Grande took to the stage to deliver a moving speech, holding back tears, to speak on her experiences, reports Glamour.

“I find it interesting that this has been one of the best years of my career and the worst of my life,” she said. “I’m not saying that for sympathy. I’m just saying that because I feel like a lot of people would look at someone in my position right now, I guess… an artist that could be at her peak… and think, ‘She’s really got her sh*t together, you know? She’s really on it. She’s got it all.’ And I do, but as far as my personal life goes, I really have no idea what the f*ck I’m doing.”

She then spoke out to those who are unsure about what’s coming next in life.

“It’s been a very conflicting one, and I just want to say that if you’re someone out there who has no idea what this next chapter is going to bring, you’re not alone in that.”

With the sudden death of her ex-boyfriend, Mac Miller, and her highly publicized and breakup with Pete Davidson, Grande has had a rough couple of months. After calling off the engagement with Davidson, Grande released her record-breaking hit, “Thank U, Next,” which references her past relationships. As she moves into the new year, the 25-year-old is keeping a positive outlook.

“I’m really looking forward to embracing whatever happens and whatever comes my way,” Grande said. You go, Ariana!
