A woman in South Africa is escaping a real life horror story after being found alive in a mortuary fridge when paramedics had already declared her dead.

A woman in South Africa is escaping a real life horror story following a scary car accident…
According to Metro, the woman was in the accident on June 24th of this year. However, paramedics declared her dead at the scene after she showed no signs of life.
At Carletonville Hospital, mortuary workers moved the woman’s body to the fridge before her autopsy. But after one worker went back to check something, he found she was still breathing!
A source at the mortuary revealed their frustration over the situation, saying:
“Paramedics are trained to determine death, not us. ‘You never expect to open a fridge and find someone in there alive. Can you imagine if we had begun the autopsy and killed her?”

The ambulance company that treated the woman at the scene of the accident also shared their distress with what happened.
Operations Manager Gerrit Bradnick explained:
“We followed our procedures, we’ve got no idea how it happened. The crew is absolutely devastated – we’re not in the business of declaring living people dead, we’re in the business of keeping people alive.”
He also said that the crew followed all protocol to check for signs of life, and the woman showed “no form of life” at the time of the crash.
The entire incident is now under investigation as the woman’s family understandably wants answers over how this could happen. Thankfully, the woman herself is now in the hospital recovering. It’s unclear how serious her injuries are.
