The team over at Food & Wine did a survey and the results are startling. For starters, the most popular breakfast food in America is NOT eggs, or bacon, or sausage, no no…it’s COLD PIZZA!
For real.
“A majority of those polled — 53 percent — said they preferred a cold slice of pizza at breakfast to their usual options like eggs and orange juice.”
Oh, and what do you think people are eating on those pies? The article surmises that most people are not cool with anchovies and pineapple, but many people eat them.
The only finding from this study I can totally get behind is that many people like their pepperoni curly, I can only assume this means slightly well-done and crispy on the edges…I am 100% here for that.
But really, cold pizza for breakfast…let’s do better friends, let’s do better.
