Earlier this week, Teletubbies actor Simon Shelton Barnes passed away. While at the time, police were not saying what the cause of death was, the bizarre circumstances are now available to the public.

According to Radar Online, Barnes, who portrayed the purple Teletubby named Tinky Winky, froze to death. During a walk in Liverpool, England, the actor collapsed and died before anyone could find him.

Police are still investigating, and they are likely looking into what caused the actor to collapse in the first place.

Since his untimely passing, friends and family have begun sharing their grief on social media. Fellow Teletubbies actor John Simmit said in a post:

“RIP Simon Shelton aka Tinky Winky: remembering the many good times. Rest easy.”

Barnes son Henry also shared his sadness, saying:

“I lost my lovely dad on Wednesday, he was the kindest and most gentle man I knew and I love him more than anything.”

We wish the best to his family during this difficult time. Head right here for more info.
