Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows just passed the 400-inch mark for cumulative snowfall for the season with 403 inches of snow. And, several Lake Tahoe area ski resorts are rejoicing after the area picked up as much as 8 more inches of new snow with the latest storm.

And, a lot of people are wondering what our rainfall totals look like in Sacramento. After yesterday’s storm, we’re only about an inch and a half away from our average rainfall for this time of year. According to the National Weather Service, since the water year started on October first, Sacramento Executive has received 15.36 inches of rain with the average being 16.84. Already this month we’ve had two inches of rain, which is well above the average of seven tenths of an inch.
