Iceland has become the first country in the world to pass and equal pay law. The law was introduced this year and officially makes it illegal for men to make more than women for the same job.

Now any company that employs more than 25 people is required to get government certification to ensure the equal-pay policy, reports Al Jazeera.

Iceland’s government is determined to erase the gender pay gap in the country by 2022.
