The DC Cinematic Universe is now looking for a new Superman because Henry Cavill is leaving the role.

According to TMZ, the actor, who’s portrayed the famous superhero in three movies so far, is moving on to other things.

While Cavill had been in negotiations to appear as Superman in the upcoming Shazam! film, talks recently broke down. In the end, both parties decided to walk away, leaving the future of the hero uncertain.

Prior to this development, many expected the actor to appear in another Superman film as well as the Justice League sequel. Now, it appears that a recast is imminent before those movies move forward.

Henry Cavill is following in the footsteps of Batman actor Ben Affleck who also isn’t returning in future films. However, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, and Ezra Miller (a.k.a Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and the Flash) are still ready to take up their superhero mantles going forward.
