Residents of Lake Worth, Florida got a surprising cellphone notification during a power outage that warned of a zombie outbreak. There’s no doubt that at least some people’s hearts stopped for just a second.
The automated message appeared to reference hit AMC show The Walking Dead. Lake Worth’s spokesman, Ben Kerr, told the Palm Beach Post that city officials are looking into the incident.

It seems that someone hacked into the city’s alert system and edited one of the thousands of pre-prepared messages. Kerr continued to say that “the system has been scrubbed and there will be no further zombie messaging.”
