Nothing sounds more awful than flying for eight hours, only to land exactly where you started….

Wouldn’t it be awful to sit on a plane for eight hours, only to land exactly where you took off? Unfortunately for Chrissy Teigen, that’s exactly what happened to her this holiday season…

According to The Star, Teigen and husband John Legend were flying to Tokyo to celebrate the New Year. Leaving from LAX on Tuesday, the pregnant model was four hours into her flight when the plane suddenly turned around and flew back to LAX.

Why?

Another passenger was somehow on the wrong flight. While that’s weird in and of itself, they were also on the wrong airline!

Teigen hilariously tweeted throughout the ordeal, saying:

“a flying first for me: 4 hours into an 11 hour flight and we are turning around because we have a passenger who isn’t supposed to be on this plane. Why … why do we all gotta go back, I do not know…… Lmao after all this I will have spent 8 hours on a flight to nowhere. Like we were all just havin a great time up here flyin in the sky watching gran torino time to go home now….. They keep saying the person had a United ticket. We are on ANA. So basically the boarding pass scanner is just a beedoop machine that makes beedoop noises that register to nowhere”

After landing, some passengers spent time talking to police. Then, 14 hours after originally leaving LAX, all the passengers took off for a second time at 2 a.m….

Chrissy Teigen left her Twitter followers with one last Tweet before (presumably) shutting off her phone for the flight:
