A bill that would restrict the distribution of plastic straws at restaurants in California now goes to the governor. The bill, which as approved by the Assembly in a 45-20 vote now goes to Governor Jerry Brown for his signature. If signed, California would become the first state to prohibit full-service, dine-in restaurants from giving customers plastic straws unless requested. Plastic straws however, would not be banned at fast food restaurants.
