Anthony Bourdain left behind about $1.2 million in assets at the time of his death to his young daughter.
According to court papers, obtained by New York Daily News, Bourdain was reportedly worth $1.2 million, despite reports of a $16 million fortune.
The listed assets include $425k in cash, $250k in personal property, $325k in brokerage accounts, and about $500k in royalties and residuals.
His 11-year-old daughter, Ariane, gets the majority of his assets, and his estranged wife, Ottavia Busia-Bourdain, is the executor of the will
A lot of people were surprised by how little Bourdain apparently had. However, TMZ says they obtained a copy of the will that indicates he may have more money than reported. The will indicates there’s a trust containing an undisclosed amount of assets.
Apparently this is a common practice for tax purposes and privacy.
