Anthony Bourdain’s mother wants to make plans for his funeral, but is being forced to deal with a lot of red tape.
Gladys Bourdain is understandably devastated by her son’s death, and her frustration is growing by how long is taking French officials to release his body, according to Page Six.
Bourdain died Friday morning at a hotel in France, and the family is still waiting to be able to fly the body back to the United State to be buried.
Gladys Bourdain tell Page Six, “Listen, I lived there for five years — nothing is done quickly.”
Bourdain’s estranged wife, Ottavia Bourdain, is handling funeral arrangements. Ottavia is still legally Anthony’s next of kin. The two remained on good terms and were raising their 11-year-old daughter together.
