Why You Should Start Holiday Shopping Now (Seriously)

Procrastinating on your holiday shopping may be riskier than usual this year.

It’s not even Labor Day, and experts are sounding the alarm bell. Supply chain woes are going to impact the holidays. It may be a good idea to start your holiday shopping now. Otherwise you could face the risk of gifts being out of stock. 

Things like factory shutdowns, overwhelmed ports, shipping shortages and a shortage of warehouse workers are currently plaguing retailers. These issues are only expected to get worse as we head into the holidays.

Some companies are trying to get ahead of the problem. Amazon and Walmart have prebought shipping containers ahead of the holiday season, and Home Depot is renting its own cargo ships. 

Meanwhile, toy companies Mattel and Hasbro say higher prices are inevitable as they try to offset higher production and shipping costs.

Brace yourselves for longer than normal delivery times and have several different gift ideas up your sleeves.
