Travel on Southwest May Return to Normal this Weekend

After a week of delays, cancellations, and a real-life version of “Planes, Trains, and Automobiles” for tens of thousands of Americans…Southwest Airlines says they expect flight schedules to return to 100% normal this weekend. That’s good news if you have New Year’s travel plans, but what do you do if your Christmas flights were cancelled and you had to find another way to your destination or home? The airline says travelers affected by disruptions could “submit receipts for consideration” by email or on Southwest’s website. “We will honor reasonable requests for reimbursement for meals, hotel, and alternate transportation,” it said on an FAQ section on its site. So, find those hotel, meal, rental car, and gas receipts and submit them!
