Taron Egerton Of ‘Kingsman’ Confirmed For Netflix ‘Dark Crystal’ Prequel

Netflix made the announcement that Taron Egerton, from ‘Kingsman’, will be lending his voice in the upcoming ‘Dark Crystal’ prequel series.

Kingsman star, Taron Egerton, has been confirmed to star in the upcoming Netflix series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance.

According to NME, this new Netflix series will serve as a prequel to the cult classic film The Dark CrystalThe Dark Crystal was the 1982 fantasy film from The Muppets creator, Jim Henson and Frank Oz. The film featured an all-puppet cast, and its imaginative story captured the hearts of fantasy fans.

Egerton will reportedly be voicing the character of Rian, a member of the Gelfing species who live on the fictional world of Thra. Fellow Kingsman star, Mark Strong, will also be joining Egerton. Additional stars confirmed to be lending their voices include Helena Bonham Carter, Natalie Dormer, Eddie Izzard and Tony Jones.

Netflix provided some details regarding this new prequel series. In their official description, Netflix wrote: “The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance tells a new epic story, set many years before the events of the movie, and realized using classic puppetry with cutting edge visual effects.”

No official release date has been announced yet, but the series is expected to drop sometime in 2019.
