Next time you’re leaving downtown Sacramento, glance to your right. At 16th and G streets the Capital Cat Café is taking shape.

Originally anticipating a winter open, the mother/daughter team of Laura and Emalee Ousley are wrapping up the loose ends. The new plan is to open this fall.

What can you expect at The Capital Cat Café? You’ll find several adoptable cats to pet and enjoy all while you’re sipping beverages in the cat lounge. The Ousley’s also expect to partner with local business and farmers to offer pastries, charcuterie boards and small plates for snacking, according to the Sacramento Bee.

“Our goal is to increase the number of adoptions every year in the county as well as give people a nice, relaxing place to hang out,” former barista Emalee Ousely told the Sac Bee.
