Sacramento Public Library Boasts 2 Million E-Book Downloads!

That number puts the Sacramento Public Library in the Top 20 nationwide!

The Sacramento Public Library “achieved a record-breaking two million digital book checkouts in 2019.” According to a January 9th press release, “This accomplishment illustrates the continued growth and importance of library lending of ebooks and audiobooks along with the creative ways the library has served its community with digital services. Sacramento Public Library is one of 73 systems around the world – including standalone libraries and consortia – that surpassed one million checkouts through Rakuten OverDrive, the leading digital reading platform and its award-winning app Libby (complete list here).
 
“Providing access to ebooks and audiobooks is important to Sacramento Public Library — now more than ever,” said Matt Hill, E-Resources Supervisor at Sacramento Public Library. “These numbers show that our patrons are embracing the availability of ebooks at their fingertips. With phone in-hand, they always have the library with them.”
