Veterans Day serves as a day to honor and remember military veterans. This year, the Sacramento area has several events to help you do so.

Sacramento County:
Nov. 11 Veterans Day Open Cockpit at McClellan Park 10:00 a.m.-2 p.m.
Nov. 11 Sacramento Veterans Day Parade and Fair Capitol Mall 10 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Nov. 11 West Sacramento Veterans Day Parade in West Sacramento parade starts at 10:00 a.m.
Nov. 11 Wayne Spence Veterans Parade in Folsom starts at 9:00 a.m.
Nov. 11 Carmichael Elks Club, Veterans Day performance Moonlight Swing in Carmichael 7:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m.
Nov. 11 Flag Ceremony in Rio Linda 11 a.m. – 1:oo p.m.

Solano County:
Nov. 11 Fairfield Veterans Day Parade 12:30 p.m.-1:30 p.m.
Nov. 11 Suisun City Veterans Day celebration 3 p.m.-6:00 p.m.

Placer County:
Nov. 11 Veterans Day Placer County Veterans Monument by American Legion Post 264 and VFW Post 3010 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. in Lincoln.
Nov. 11 103rd Auburn Area Veterans Day Parade, ceremony, luncheon 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Yuba County:
Nov. 11 Yuba Sutter Veterans Day Parade in Marysville at 11:00 a.m.

Other meaningful ways to celebrate Veterans Day:
  • Adopt a military family for the holidays. 
  • Donate to a reputable veterans’ charity or service organization. 
  • Participate in the National Two-Minutes of Silence (11:11 a.m. PST)
  • Participate in the VA’s #BeThere campaign. 
  • Visit a veteran memorial or cemetery
  • Visit your local nursing home or VA hospital.
