Poll Finds Who ‘Jeopardy’ Fans Really Wanted As Host

If fans had their way, LaVar Burton would fill Alex Trebek’s vacancy as host of ‘Jeopardy’, not Mike Richards.
A new poll by Morning Consultant revealed Sacramento native LeVar Burton received 14% of the votes. Richards trailed with just 3% saying they wanted him to permanently replace the late Alex Trebek.
‘Big Bank Theory’ actress Mayim Bialik came in a close second with 13%.
Last week, it was announced the unknown Richards, who served as the show’s executive producer, was taking over as host, with Bialik taking over during prime-time and spinoff “Jeopardy!” specials.
The decision followed months of rotating hosts in what we believed were tryouts for the position.
More than 260,000 fans signed a petition to make LaVar Burton the new host of “Jeopardy!” but apparently Sony Pictures Television thought otherwise.
