Placer County is in need of volunteers to help deliver meals to isolated seniors. Since the stay-at-home order Seniors First, the service that provides Meals on Wheels in Placer County, has been overwhelmed. Many of the volunteers are also seniors and have found themselves unable to help due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Over 400 clients depend on the Meal on Wheels service, with more and more people asking for help everyday.

“What used to be considered a convenience or a matter of safety has now become a basic need for so many. Without volunteers, we simply cannot meet the demand of these seniors that are alone and hungry,” Seniors First Executive Director Stephanie Vierstra told Roseville Today.

Volunteers are able to create their own schedules and get reimbursed for mileage. Safety measures are in place to prevent the spread of viruses.

To Volunteer call Seniors First at (530) 889-9500.
