It’s National Hamburger Day (who comes up with all of these days?) and that has me thinking. About burgers of course!

This website, National Today has some cool infographics breaking down some of these stats, but here are a few of my favorites:

Our favorite burger topping is cheese, with 79% of American’s preferring a cheeseburger to a hamburger. The rest of the top five are lettuce (71%), tomatoes (66%), onions (58%) and pickles (54%).

In America, we like American cheese most of all, but just barely.  66% like American cheese, 65% like cheddar, 43% like Swiss, 40% like pepper jack, and 31% like provolone.

How about favorite burger joint? According to this article our 5 favorite burger chains are McDonald’s, Five Guys, Wendy’s, Burger King, and Steak ‘n Shake.
