Neighbors Honor WWII Vet With Simple Gesture

For years 95-year-old World War II veteran Harvey Djerf has enjoyed two walks every day. It keeps him young and healthy. But, recently his neighbors noticed Harvey wasn’t giving himself enough rest breaks along his path. Being concerned, good neighbors and not wanting him to over-do it, one family left a chair on their front lawn so he could take a break along his usual route if needed. Then another family left out a chair. And another. There are now 12 chairs along Harvey’s walking path, which they say he uses when he needs to. Harvey says he’s grateful for the help and his neighbors say it’s an honor when their beloved war hero chooses to sit in their chair to catch his breath.
