A horse named ‘Gronkowski’ just clinched a spot at the Kentucky Derby. This horse is the real deal, too. After numerous qualify rounds and four straight wins, the horse named after the New England Patriots tight end, Rob Gronkowski, is headed to Churchill Downs.
A self-proclaimed Patriots fan, owner Kerri Radcliffe says named the horse after Rob Gronkowski due to their similar heights (6-foot-5).
“I love the New England Patriots, and as Rob Gronkowski is 6-5 and about the same wide, I thought it would be an appropriate name for the horse, as he’s built much the same,” Radcliffe told the Racing Post.
Pretty sure we know who Gronk will be betting on May 5th.
And Gronkowski is a beast on the track. Check out the video below of the race that sent him to the Derby.
