Here’s Where to Find Local Cooling Centers

It’s been a lovely start to summer, with cooler than normal temperatures. That is about to change with temps 100 degrees or higher arriving on Friday. In fact, Saturday could be a record-tying 107 in Sacramento.
Hopefully, you live/work is a place with good air conditioning, but if you don’t, there are a number of free local cooling centers that will be open.
In Sacramento County:
1725 28th St, Sacramento, CA, 95816:
June 29 and June 30: 8 a.m.- 4 p.m. Extended hours for heat respite: 4 p.m.- 8 p.m.
July 1 and July 2: 2 p.m.- 8 p.m.
July 3: 8 a.m.- 4 p.m. Extended hours for heat respite: 4 p.m.- 8 p.m.
5747 Watt Avenue, North Highlands, CA, 95660:
June 29 and June 30: 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Extended hours for heat respite: 4 p.m.- 8 p.m.
July 1 and July 2 : 2 p.m. – 8 p.m.
July 3: 8 a.m.- 4 p.m. Extended hours for heat respite: 4 p.m.- 8 p.m.
Rancho Cordova City Hall: 2729 Prospect Park Drive
Friday, June 30 through Sunday, July 2 from 2 PM – 8 PM. Signage will direct residents to the cooling center room.

Monday: 12 p.m. – 8 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday: 9:30 a.m. – 8 p.m., Friday through Saturday: 9:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., and Sunday: 1 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Davis Respite Center: 530 L Street:
Monday through Friday: 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m., and Saturday: 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Davis Senior Center: 646 A Street:
Hours: Monday through Friday: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
