We are just days away from the “ring of fire” Solar Eclipse! The partial Solar Eclipse is happening this Saturday, October 14th from 8 to 11 a.m. Maximum coverage will be at 9:20 a.m.

To celebrate, the Physics & Astronomy department at Sac State will be hosting a free viewing party. Everyone is invited to join for the safest way to view the eclipse.

They will be setting up in the garden area behind the Planetarium. Sac State will provide some “eclipse viewing glasses” and will offer telescopes with solar filters for safe viewing. There will also be free planetarium shows from 8 AM to 10 AM. (First come- first serve).
