If you use an over-the-air (OTA) antenna to receive digital TV – it’s time to re-scan for channels.

As for the reasoning, KCRA writes, “Approximately 1,000 TV stations nationwide will have to change their frequencies to make room for wireless internet carriers after an FCC held auction, according to a statement released by the National Association of Broadcasters.”

Basically – some TV stations will be changing ‘channels’ so to speak. The good news is it’s really easy to re-scan for channels.

Here’s what you do.

Here’s how to do it:

  • Press the “Menu” button on your television’s remote control
  • Press “Set-Up”
  • Select “Antenna” then “Channel Scan” or “Auto-Tune”
