The story is fairly simple. Visitors board a shuttle, are kidnapped by the bad guys, then escape with the help of the good guys.

Disney’s massive new ride “The Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance” is the centerpiece of Disney’s $1 billion park expansion, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

Unfortunately the ride broke down nearly immediately after its debut this morning, according to Brevard Times.

“Rise of the resistance broke down after about 18 minutes,” one park guest tweeted.

Here’s a video from the pre-show, and what it’s supposed to look like. From start to finish it looks amazing!

When the land debuted first at Disneyland then at Disney’s Hollywood Studios they were packed with Star Wars fans. But Galaxy’s Edge only offered one ride – “Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run,” until Disney unveiled “Rise” at Walt Disney World this morning – debuting at Disneyland January 17.
