Ashley Judd is suing Harvey Weinstein for derailing her career after she denied his sexual advances. She could have landed quite a huge role had Weinstein not intervened.

Judd met Peter Jackson around 1998 to play a major role in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. According to papers obtained by the Blast, Jackson expressed interest in casting her, but ultimately did not after speaking with Weinstein.

Judd said that the producer claimed he had a “bad experience” with the actress and that she was a “nightmare” to work with. He spoke with Jackson after Judd refused his sexual advances. Weinstein thus successfully blacklisted Judd and she lost her chance to be a part of the huge franchise.

She’s suing on the grounds of sexual harassment and defamation and seeking unspecified damages.
