Get ready, we could see the return of $4 gasoline in California by May. California already has the most expensive gasoline prices in country and it could soon cost eve more as oil markets rally. Right now the statewide average is $3.30, a little cheaper here in Sacramento at $3.10, but that could go up to $4 a gallon by Memorial Day, when demand for gas really picks up. That would be the first time we’ve seen $4 gas since July of 2014. We’re also facing more state taxes on gasoline. Back in November, we started paying 12 cents more per gallon of regular and 20 cents more a gallon for diesel.
