ABC’s ‘American Idol’ Reboot Will Not Be Airing Bad Auditions

To be honest, I never really liked the bad auditions because I thought they were fairly mean spirited, but I know a lot of you loved them.

Well… this is shocking! Isn’t that what put American Idol on the map? To be honest, I never really liked the bad auditions because I thought they were fairly mean spirited, but I know a lot of you loved them. And, they even put some people on the map! Remember Pants on the Ground guy? How about William Hung?

Well, ABC just announced it will not be airing the bad auditions when AI returns in March. I guess more people feel like me. Show-runner Trish Kinane says, “It doesn’t feel comfortable to put borderline unstable people up on stage and laugh at them.” She says that doesn’t mean every audition will be serious or make you cry. She added, “We want humor, but we don’t want the exploitation.”
