Woman Turns Arrest Mugshot Into Promotion For Her Hair Business

A woman in North Carolina turned a not so good start to the new year into promotion for her business! This is pretty clever.

A woman in North Carolina turned a not so good start to the new year into promotion for her business! Shia Yearwood was arrested last week for violating a domestic protective order. The police department shared her mugshot, which attracted some attention on Twitter with one person asking, “Okay but who did her hair?” Out on bail, she replied, “ME!”

And, that’s when the idea came to her. She retweeted her own mugshot promoting her hair business with the hashtag #BraidsByShia. That tweet was retweeted more than 4,000 times by Sunday afternoon.

Needless to say she’s made lots of appointments and tweeted, “I would just like to say I do appreciate the internet for the laughs and the new clients! Turn negatives into positives all 2018.”
