Runny nose, itchy eyes, you know the drill. It’s allergy season in Sacramento. According to the CDC, your facemask could help add an extra layer of protection against some seasonal allergies.

“Masks also offer some protection against seasonal allergies because they can prevent some larger particles from being inhaled. However, if you have seasonal allergies, masks should not be your only protection against pollen exposure because smaller particles can still get through the covering and be inhaled,” claims the CDC website.

So, you probably want to go ahead and stock up on your allergy pills and nasal sprays, and don’t forget to wash your facemasks regularly to get rid of the pollen.
