The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is happening again this year. It’s the 92nd one, and will of course be held in New York City. Hoda Kotb, Savannah Guthrie, and Al Roker from “Today” will be hosting. It happens on Thanksgiving day, the 22nd, at 9am E.T.

Something they’re doing this year will let you watch without a TV. They’re going to live-stream the parade, with a 360-degree camera. Macy’s partnered with Verizon for the tech, and you’ll be able to watch on Verizon’s YouTube Channel. It will also be on NBC’s website via their live-streaming app.

What’s going to be there? Well, they’ve got 16 “character” balloons (think The Grinch and Spongebob). There will be 43 “novelty” balloons (Nutcracker, Candy Cane, etc). They’re saying they’ll have 26 floats total, and 1,200 dancers/cheerleaders. An interesting and specific clown count – 1,000 of them. The marching bands are coming back too, there will be 12 of them.

Lots of performers will be there – it’s basically a rolling concert. John Legend, Martina McBride, Pentatonix, Diana Ross, tons of great artists. Also in attendance will be the casts of four different musicals – “Mean Girls,” “My Fair Lady,” “The Prom,” and “SUMMER: The Donna Summer Musical.” “Sesame Street” will be there too with the cast, and a couple handfuls of other performers.

There’s more to see over here, and here on the official website, like which floats will be running. That includes Santa, of course, and the Girl Scouts design for this year too. Willy Wonka, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and all sorts of others. There will be some secrets and surprises I’m sure, and it sounds like a lot of fun this year. Does your family watch the parade?
