Yesterday afternoon, a vintage plane crashed into a busy Southern California highway. The North American AT-6 was part of a group, Condor Squadron, that does mock dogfights, according to KCRA. Shockingly, and thankfully, the pilot was okay and no one on the ground was injured.

U.S. 101 is usually very busy, even 30 miles south of downtown Los Angeles, which is where the accident occurred. The pilot also flies professionally for Alaska Airlines.

The pilot’s name hasn’t been released yet. However, he was apparently on a training exercise and it’s not certain what caused the crash.
