Nowadays it’s nearly impossible to see a beauty ad that doesn’t feature flawless skin. That’s why Urban Decay is standing out for its latest campaign.

The beauty brand shared photos on its Instagram page featuring close up shots of models’ faces. The pictures clearly show the natural texture, freckles, and pores of each model. It truly does look like the only thing that might have been retouched is the lighting.

As HelloGiggles points out, this campaigning technique is quite brilliant. It not only gets people talking, but it also gives a more accurate idea of what the product actually looks like on “real skin”. That being the case, it highlights the impressive color payout of the product.

Hopefully, this sparks a positive trend in beauty advertising!
