UC Davis Still Has Some Unidentified Pets From The Camp Fire

There are still a lot of animals from the Camp Fire that haven’t found their owners yet, and UC Davis is trying to get the word out about a bunch of cats they’re caring for.

The UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine is asking for some help. They’ve taken in a lot of pets, specifically a lot of cats, from the Camp Fire in Paradise. A lot of the cats they have have yet to be picked up, and they’re asking for some help identifying some of the pets.

They can’t do adoptions from the school, since the animals are still “property” of the animal control services from where they came. They’re asking that if you know the animal for sure, or know who the owner is, get them in touch. The email address they provided is ucdavisvetmed@gmail.com. If one of the animals is yours, you can pick it up, but they are asking for some form of photo ID of the pet. They do understand that at this very moment it may not be an option for a lot of people have had to leave things behind or who may have lost photos in the fire.

If some time passes and the animals aren’t picked up, they’ll be returned to the country from where they came. Once back there, they’ll be adopted or fostered out from there. But until that happens, again, the Veterinary School can’t allow the animals to be fostered or adopted. Spread the word if you have family or friends from the Paradise area, and hopefully all these kitties will find their homes.
