Two Journey Members Have Been Fired

Two members of the Bay Area rock group Journey have been fired from the band following legal disputes over the rights to the name of the band.
Longtime band members Ross Valory and Steve Smith attempted a corporate coup against guitarist Neal Schon and keyboardist Jonathan Cain by attempting to buy Nightmare Productions, a corporate entity connected to the band.
Valory and Smith reportedly tried to gain control of Journey’s name and trademark behind Cain’s and Schon’s backs. They reportedly believed this would give them the sole authority of the Journey brand. In response, Schon and Cain fired Valory and Smith.
The band is currently seeking damages above $10 million against the former members.
