The movie reviewing website called “Rotten Tomatoes” made a list of the best 50 Christmas movies. This is according to the reviews left on their website from users. A few on the list were surprising, whether I didn’t think they should have been there at all, or I thought they should be higher up.

Let’s go through a few of my personal favorite Christmas movies. In no particular order, I’ll start with “Home Alone.” I like the second one more than the first one, sure. But I still feel like the first “Home Alone” should be higher up than #46. The second “Home Alone” didn’t make the list at all, oddly. “The Santa Clause” with Tim Allen came in at #33. It’s a good, wholesome movie, and I think it could have been a few notches higher as well. “Elf” popped in at #25 on the list, two notches behind “Gremlins,” which was just funny to me. “A Christmas Story” hit the spot at #13, but I would personally give it my #1 spot if I made the list.

“Die Hard” is also on my personal list, and made the cut at #11. I would put that movie in my top-10. I firmly believe that “Die Hard” is in fact a Christmas movie. It gets watched every year alongside “A Christmas Story.” “The Nightmare Before Christmas” is also a Christmas movie. While I enjoyed it, I don’t think I’d have it at position #6 like this list. Another surprising one for me was “Frosty the Snowman.” It rounded out the bottom of the list at #50. Frosty is a Christmas classic, and I would have thought it’d be higher up.

Rounding out the top-5 on the list were “It’s A Wonderful Life” at #1 (which I would place in my top-5 for sure). #2 was “Meet Me In St. Louis,” and then #3 is “Miracle on 34th St.” #4 is “Holiday Inn,” and #5 is “The Shop Around the Corner.” Lots of films from the ’40s on the list! Check out the full list over here, and let us know if your favorite made the list, and if you thought it was placed fairly.
