The upcoming Mr. Rogers movie, starring Tom Hanks, has officially been given a perfect name.

According to Hello Giggles, the name of the film following the life of Fred Rogers will be called Its A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood. Tom Hanks will be donning the iconic sweater, to portray a moment in Fred Rogers’ life. In the film, the real-life friendship of Fred Rogers and journalist Tom Junod is examined. The cynical journalist is tasked with creating a piece on the beloved Rogers. Junod reluctantly agrees, but finds that the assignment and time with Rogers changes his life perspective.

The upcoming film is set to be directed by Marielle Heller, whose previous work includes Diary of a Teenage Girl. When describing the project, Heller said, “The script knocked me out with its message of kindness and its exploration of the human spirit. As a mother, I am so inspired by the teachings of Fred Rogers and as a human I am in awe of his life’s work.” She concluded by saying, “I can’t wait to bring his story to the public and be a part of such a thoughtful, smart group of people who are all coming together to make this film, which truly feels to me like an antidote to our very fractured culture.”

No official release date has been given for the movie, but a release in 2019 definitely appears possible.
