It’s been a tough year for many in Sacramento and across the country. Inflation has made it difficult for a lot of people to afford the basics. If you are struggling to afford food for a Thanksgiving celebration. Here are some organizations that can help:
Sunrise Christian Food Ministry Thanksgiving Drive-Thru
Anyone in need of a free turkey and Thanksgiving fixings can get food at Sunrise Christian Food Ministry’s Thanksgiving drive at 5901 San Juan Ave., Citrus Heights from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18. Bridge Network Corporation Thanksgiving Food Box
From 11 a.m to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19, the Bridge Network will be distributing baskets full of macaroni and cheese, oats, fruit, vegetables, sweet potatoes, stuffing, corn muffin mix, shelf-stable mix — plus a $15 grocery store gift card. Stockton Boulevard Partnership
Stockton Boulevard Partnership’s Turkey-to-Go program is this Saturday, Nov. 19, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at 4605 Broadway, Sacramento. This is a drive-thru event. Rancho Cordova Food Locker at 10497 Coloma Road is hosting a Thanksgiving giveaway from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 21. Food will be given on a first come, first-serve basis.
