Do you remember when Target announced back in March they were collaborating with Hunter Boots to sell its products for less?

Everyone went crazy with the thought of being able to get a $40 version of the iconic Hunter Boots, which normally retail for $150. Well, it turns out, it was too good to be true. The Hunter for Target collection went on sale April 14 with no sign of the tall rain boots for women.

They originally were only expected to be delayed due to production issues, however Town & Country reports that Target has since announced it’s scrapping the entire line of rain boots from the collection.

Target released a statement saying, “After thorough evaluation, we’ve decided not to make this item available…we’re very sorry, but the production simply didn’t meet our standards, Hunter’s standards, or the standards we want guests to have when they shop at Target.”

So, what are they going to do with what’s already been produced? Target says it’s working to make sure the boots are recycled.
