If you’re in the mood for a scary new show to watch, as Halloween draws closer, Netflix can help. The new Netflix series, The Haunting of Hill House, has audiences terrified and impressed, including Stephen King himself.
The acclaimed horror and suspense author came out praising the Netflix adaptation of the 1959 horror novel, written by Shirley Jackson. According to NME, King took to social media to share his thoughts on the series that is quickly becoming another audience and critical hit for Netflix. “I don’t usually care for this kind of revisionism, but this is great,” King said.
He went on to celebrate the show, calling this adaptation a “work of genius”, and praising the faithfulness and respect to the source material. “I think Shirley Jackson would approve, but who knows for sure,” he added.
