State Audit Finds DMV Employee Slept 2200 Hours On The Job

What the… WHAT!? How does this happen? How? Well, it did and it apparently cost taxpayers $40K!

A recent state audit found the woman, who is (was?) a data operator at the DMV, reportedly slept at her desk for at least 3 hours a day over four years WITHOUT getting in trouble by her supervisor, reports KTLA. And, it’s not like he didn’t know! Her supervisor admits she had to be awakened on several occasions and noted her sleeping on the job in her performance evaluations, but apparently took no steps to make her actually stay awake do her job.

Annual reviews also showed she processed less than half the number of documents as her co-workers. In total she slept through about 2200 hours of work. No names are being released.
