Was that snow in Sacramento yesterday? Nope! Meteorologists say that was hail, graupel or sleet, but probably not snow.

Was that snow in Sacramento yesterday? Nope! Meteorologists say that was hail, graupel or sleet, but probably not snow.

Thunderstorms on Monday afternoon dropped pea sized hail, graupel and sleet across the heart of Sacramento that accumulated and looked a lot like snow. In fact, someone was even able to build a “hailman” near the capitol building. In fact, there is still hail on many neighborhood lawns this morning. “Snow” was reported from El Dorado Hills to Elk Grove.
